WCS Students Secure University of Cambridge Offers
Westminster City School is proud to announce that three Year 13 students have received offers to study at the University of Cambridge. This is a fantastic achievement that reflects their hard work, ambition, and the support within our Sixth Form community.
All three students have been offered a place at Girton College, University of Cambridge. Akash to read History, Victoria to read Architecture, and Ronni to read Theology, Religion and Philosophy of Religion.
Ronni shared that receiving her offer is a dream come true and she cannot wait to start in October.
“I am over the moon. I was honestly shocked as the whole process was quite overwhelming, but I don’t think I’ve ever been happier. I’m glad my hard work paid off and that I made my family proud.”
She praised the school’s Oxbridge programme for helping her feel prepared and confident, highlighting the key role of the mock interviews, a visit to Jesus College and the constant support of her subject teachers, form tutors and all the extra resources that were provided. Ronni also mentioned the importance of faith throughout this journey. She said:
“My faith was a massive part of my application, and I don't think I could've done this without trusting in God and with the support of prayers. All glory goes to God.”
Victoria also spoke about her pride at securing her offer, saying:
“It feels shocking and almost unbelievable, yet still very gratifying. It was something I never expected myself to achieve but I am incredibly pleased and proud of myself that I was able to attain such a accomplishment.
“During my time at Westminster City School I was able to take part in so many opportunities that strengthened my application, particularly the Architecture trip introduced to me by the art department which allowed me to gain valuable insights into what my course would be like. Additionally, in the Oxbridge group I was able to gain so much support in terms of personal statements, interview prep and helpful advice that ultimately allowed me to secure my offer.”

Akash, who will be completing his seven-year-journey at Westminster City School, said:
“If I hadn't applied, I know I would've regretted it. When I visited in Year 12 for a History Taster Day, something clicked. I realised that Cambridge was the place I genuinely wanted to aim for, and I decided to give it a proper shot.”
Ms Clarke, Head of Chemistry and Oxbridge Coordinator, commended the students’ determination. She said:
“All the Year 13 applicants worked extremely hard to prepare strong written applications, complete admissions tests and navigate competitive interviews. I am incredibly proud of their resilience and the way they supported one another throughout the process.
“One student received as many as four interviews for one Oxbridge course along with showcasing their portfolio and completing a drawing admissions test, this example shows the depths of student resilience along with their strive for excellence. Support from Mr de Silva and the other Year 13 tutors should also be recognised, alongside their subject teachers who have also supported these students with their aspirations and current high academic performances.
“I wish them all the very best of luck with their upcoming mocks, then their summer A-Level examinations, and for the Oxbridge applicants in particular on Results Day in August.”
At Westminster City School, we are committed to ensuring that students with Oxbridge aspirations receive the guidance, enrichment and encouragement needed to compete with their peers at the highest level in achieving their Oxbridge ambitions. Congratulations to Akash, Victoria and Ronni on this outstanding accomplishment.
