Year 7 Entry

Applications for Year 7 entry to Westminster City School in September 2025 should be submitted by 31 October 2024.

Our School offers a number of places within the full range of abilities. Of that 40% are Christian (20% Church of England and 40% other denominations) places, 15% are other world faith places and 25% are open places (governors will allocate places to boys of no faith who are willing to support the clear religious, social and ethical ethos of our School).

When applying for secondary schools, please do not forget to complete and name Westminster City School on your online local authority application form and to complete and submit our School's supplementary form.

Banding test

All applicants are required to sit a fair banding test. Parents and carers should ensure that they complete our supplementary form, as this will also book your son a place on our banding test. The banding test date will be confirmed as soon as possible.

Assessment day

All applicants must attend our assessment day. For September 2024 applicants, this will take place at Westminster City School and the date will be confirmed in due course. Applicants are present for approximately one hour and given a short English and Maths test. 

Oversubscription criteria

If, as is customary, there are more applications than places, the admissions criteria explained in our admissions policy will determine which boys are offered places. The same procedures will be applied for casual vacancies that arise in Years 8 to 11.

Late applicants

Applications received after the published closing date will not be considered until after the initial allocation of places has taken place. They can then be considered for any surplus places that may be available or, if appropriate, placed on our waiting list.
