Winners of Two Full Polar Capital Scholarships

22 January 2026

Congratulations to Year 13 students, Ruth and Giuliana, who have been awarded full scholarships to the Polar Capital Aspire Scheme following their selection as finalists at the end of last year. Securing full scholarships means having their university tuition fees paid in full, monthly stipend for living expenses, support with mentoring from the Polar Capital team and the chance to take part in a summer internship at Polar Capital.

Ruth spoke about the impact of the scheme beyond financial support, saying:

“PCAS is a fantastic opportunity to access university, not just financially, but also through the personal and professional guidance it provides. I think this bursary definitely makes Westminster City School stand out by giving students a head start in life and I don’t think you would find something like this at any other Sixth Form.”

Ruth plans to study Chemical Engineering and hopes to progress to a master’s degree. She previously attended South Bank University Academy Secondary School.

Giuliana explained how receiving the bursary will allow her to fully focus on her studies while exploring long-term career pathways. She added:

“I applied for PCAS for both the financial support and the mentoring opportunities. This bursary means I can fully focus on my studies while gaining insights into potential careers that I would like to pursue in the future. I’m hoping to study Geography and Economics and build a career in finance or sustainability.” Giuliana’s former secondary school is Canary Wharf College Crossharbour.

Well done to these two students for working tremendously hard to secure this incredible opportunity with Polar Capital.
