Recently, Westminster City School’s Year 9 and 10 boys’ basketball team delivered an outstanding performance at the SSLP Basketball Tournament hosted by Dulwich College and came out as champions.

The tournament featured a league format with each team playing four matches. Westminster City School secured the title, winning all four games. The matches were competitive throughout, with two of the games going into overtime, testing the team’s resilience and teamwork under pressure.

Mr Porteous, Basketball Coach at Westminster City School, commented:

“Our Year 9 and 10 Basketball team, with just five players and no substitutes, played four games against STAC, Harris Greenwich, Charter North Dulwich and Dulwich College, and they did us proud. We won comfortably against STAC and Harris Greenwich, had a tight win versus Charter North Dulwich, and fought through a nail-biting overtime against the hosts, Dulwich College. The players showed remarkable teamwork and composure.”

The team, Arsal A, Bilal C, Jahmarion F, Mustapha K, and William W, demonstrated skill, energy, and sportsmanship throughout the afternoon, impressing coaches and spectators.
