Year 12 Workshop with IntoUniversity
On Thursday 5 June, Year 12 students at Westminster City School took part in a dynamic and informative workshop on Personal Statement Writing and Alternative Pathways, delivered by the experienced team from IntoUniversity. ‘IntoUniversity is a United Kingdom-based charity that aims to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds achieve their chosen aspiration, including university, further and higher education, employment and work-based training’.
As students begin to consider their post-18 options, the workshop allowed students to have discussions about the different pathways available beyond university, including apprenticeships, degree apprenticeships, Higher National Certificates, Higher National Diplomas (HNCs/HNDs) and other vocational options.
Additionally, students received expert advice on how to write a convincing and thoughtful personal statement which encouraged them to think about their own individual experiences, skills, and ambitions that would contribute to their university application.
A huge thank you to IntoUniversity for their support in helping our students to gain the confidence and knowledge needed to help with their decision-making pertaining to life after Westminster City School and beyond.
