Year 10 Students Excel at SSLP AI Conference

19 May 2025

Six Year 10 students from Westminster City School took part in the recent Southwark Schools Learning Partnership (SSLP) AI Conference, hosted in collaboration with schools from across the borough. As part of the day, they worked alongside peers from other institutions to research, prepare, and deliver a speech on the complex and timely topic of Ethics in Artificial Intelligence.

The final presentation was exceptionally well received by attendees and organisers alike, demonstrating not only the students’ deep engagement with the subject matter, but also their confidence, eloquence, and maturity. This moment marked the conclusion of a collaborative project that began back in November 2024, highlighting months of dedication, thoughtful research, and teamwork.

Representing the school were:

Tyrell  (10P), Stephen (10K), Daniel (10P), Jireh (10K), Arthur  (10D), and Sebastian (10D)

These opportunities are a valuable reminder of the power of cross-school collaboration. They allow students to explore real world issues, challenge their thinking, and build vital communication and leadership skills. These students returned from the event inspired, more informed, and proud of what they had accomplished.

A huge well done to all involved!
