Westminster City School’s Year 11 football team have made an outstanding start to their Westminster League campaign, winning their opening two fixtures against Pimlico Academy and St Augustine’s.

The first game produced a dramatic finish, with Westminster City School edging Pimlico Academy 3–2 thanks to a last minute winner from Eddie. Hezekiah and Yusuf were also on the scoresheet.

The team followed that result with a hard fought 1–0 victory over St Augustine’s. In a closely contested match, Hezekiah scored the only goal of the game to secure another three points.

Mr Williams-Parker, Director of Sport at Westminster City School, said:

“The boys have made a very encouraging start to the season. Both games tested them in different ways, and they responded well. The win against Pimlico showed their ability to keep going right to the end, showing outstanding determination, teamwork and resilience, while the St Augustine’s game required real discipline and concentration throughout.”

The two victories leave the Year 11 team in a strong early position in the Westminster League.

Well done, and congratulations to all the students involved!
