Victory for Students in the Borough Athletics Championships
Around 50 boys from Westminster City School took part in this year's Borough Athletics Championships, competing against athletes from approximately eight different schools. Despite facing challenging conditions throughout the day, including wind, rain, hail, sunshine and even thunderstorms, the boys demonstrated outstanding resilience and determination, never allowing the weather to affect their performances.
There were several exceptional individual results. Zion produced a fantastic performance to claim 3rd place in the 100m final, while Yusuf was one of the standout athletes of the competition, winning both the 400m and Long Jump events.
The high standard of performances across the team was reflected in the number of athletes selected to represent the borough at the English Schools competition. Those selected were:
Year 9

Year 10

Ms Kendall, PE Teacher at Westminster City School, said:
"The commitment, effort and attitude shown by all WCS athletes throughout the day were exemplary. Competing through constantly changing weather conditions required great mental strength, and every athlete represented the school with pride. The results achieved are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the boys, and the school is extremely proud of their achievements."
