Congratulations to Year 12 student at Westminster City School’s Sixth Form, Nyiah, who has been selected to attend the ‘Exploring Law Conference 2026' at the University of Cambridge.

The four-day residential conference will take place from Monday 30 March to Thursday 2 April 2026 and is designed to support Year 12 students who are considering studying Law at university. ‘The programme offers students a balanced insight into Law as both an academic subject and a profession, while also giving them the opportunity to experience life as an undergraduate at the University of Cambridge.’

As part of the application process, students were required to complete a detailed written application in order to be considered. Commenting on the entire process from the application stage to being selected, Nyiah said:

“To be selected, I had to complete a survey and then answer four extended writing questions about my academic and personal life.

“I applied for this opportunity because I want to understand what type of Law I would like to go into and what the profession is really like. It’s important to see the reality of being a Lawyer and how they work, rather than basing everything I know on TV shows or films.”

Nyiah, who joined Westminster City School’s Sixth Form after attending Streatham and Clapham High School, shared that she believes the experience will be invaluable in shaping her future decisions. She said:

“I think this will really help deepen my understanding beyond what I read about in books and give me a clearer picture of what I should expect, and that’s exactly what I will gain from this experience. Hearing from real people who are experts in Law.”

Nyiah aspires to pursue a career in Law, with the long-term goal of becoming a Judge. She is currently considering universities including Harvard, UCL and the University of Cambridge.
