Year 12 students at Westminster City School recently had the exciting opportunity to visit Skanska UK as part of a careers trip. Skanska is one of the UK’s leading construction contractors, playing a vital role in building, upgrading, and maintaining the country’s infrastructure.

During the visit, students gained first-hand insight into innovative technologies, sustainable construction practices, and the wide range of career paths available in the design and building sectors.

John, a Year 12 student at Westminster City School shared his experience, saying:

"Having the opportunity to visit an actual construction site was quite amazing. We were able to find out more about the different roles involved in getting things done. We also received advice from site managers and other professionals who are experts in their fields.

"From this trip, I learnt about the construction industry, the detailed planning that goes into creating buildings, and the flexibility the sector offers in terms of careers. Overall, it was definitely a fulfilling day with lots to reflect on and apply."
