Andrea, who is in Year 12 at Westminster City School’s Sixth Form recently had the chance to complete 3-days of work experience at Pemberton Asset Management, located in Westminster. Pemberton Asset Management is ‘a leading European Private debt manager investing is non-investment grade debt on behalf of institutional investors globally.’

This experience which was in a professional environment allowed Andrea to speak to individuals at the company from a range of departments, thus broadening her understanding of how the company operates and what each department is responsible for.

She commented on her experience saying:

“At first, we were given a tour of the office, then we had to complete an investment task to put our analytical and investment skills to the test to see how a business operates.

“I really enjoyed this amazing opportunity I was given because it helped me to understand how diverse asset management is and I was able to picture myself working in such an environment in the near future. The team at Pemberton Asset Management were welcoming and it was an extremely positive environment to be in for 3 days.

“My confidence has definitely increased as I came out of my comfort zone and spoke to people in a new environment whom I have never met before and I thoroughly enjoyed it.”

After completing her A-Levels, Andrea is considering to study Economics at Warwick University, LSE (London School of Economics and Political Science), The University of Bath, The University of Nottingham or Land Economy at The University of Cambridge.

Andrea joined Westminster City School’s Sixth Form from La Sainte Union Catholic Secondary School. The A-Level subjects that she is currently studying are Mathematics, Further Maths, Psychology and Economics.
