Children's Mental Health Week 2024

5 February 2024

Children's Mental Health Week will take place from 5 to 11 February 2024, with the theme of 'My Voice Matters'.

Westminster City School's Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead, Ms Joshi, had the opportunity to speak to Jeremy Juliusz Sochan, a Polish American professional basketball player for the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association around the importance of looking after our mental health. The full clip can be viewed below.

Here is a poem written by a young person in support of this year's theme which highlights what it means for young people to have a voice and be heard.

'My Voice Matters' written by A.Cena, 14 years old

I have a voice

To express my feelings

To speak my mind

To explain my pain

I have a voice

To say what I'm feeling

To say right from wrong

To help out those in need

I have a voice

To laugh

To grieve

To sing

I have a voice

To love and encourage others

To be me

To dream

I have a voice

To speak

To write

To accomplish all these things

I have a voice

And so do you
