Congratulations to Year 13 student Cyril who has been shortlisted as one of the top 10 most capable athletes from the ‘Under Armour Next’ highly competitive athletic programme. This programme is designed to identify, train and develop London’s young athletes and sports leaders of tomorrow.

When asked what inspired and motivated him to sign up to take part in this challenge. Cyril said:

“I signed up to this challenge because I am an ambitious individual and I knew that I had the potential to give my best to the task at hand.

“Furthermore, I underwent a series of intensive tests which recorded, assessed and analysed vital components of fitness to give an overall score of my athletic capabilities. These test covered endurance, strength, speed, agility, power and athletic intelligence. On my very first try, I was extremely proud to not only score the maximum threshold for the power and speed test, but I also currently hold the record for the 15m sprint with an astonishing 2.16 seconds.”

Cyril is now scheduled to compete in phase 2 of the ‘Under Armour Next’ programme where the top three athletes will win a one-year membership with Under Armour. They will be required to use their advanced training facilities for their development.  For Cyril, such an achievement will also open doorways to playing for the highest level teams in his preferred sport, as well as other benefits and connections that are linked to the brand itself. He is thrilled and is looking forward to what the future has in store for him.
