Being a Sixth Form student at Westminster City School is about so much more than just acquiring knowledge. Studying at Westminster City School's Sixth Form prepares young men and women for future study and employment, combining academic excellence with guidance on applying to university and helping students to pursue their passion. We interviewed a number of our students in Year 12, who have shared their experiences of what it is like to study at Westminster City School’s Sixth Form.

Name: Eleanor

Former Secondary School: Bishop Challoner Catholic School

A Level Subjects: Chemistry, Maths and Psychology

Why did you choose to enrol at Westminster City School’s Sixth Form?

I chose to enrol at Westminster City School’s Sixth Form because of its reputation of sending students to Russell Group Universities. Westminster City School is in the heart of London, resulting in many work opportunities from surrounding businesses. This Sixth Form also aids us with equipment such as brand new laptops for the entire year group which allows us to have vital resources to maximise the possibilities of being successful.

What are your future plans and aspirations?

I am hoping to study Biochemistry at Imperial College London. I would advise prospective students to take every opportunity that is available and to never give up on their aspirations, but to continue to persevere because that one special opportunity will come to you. Get involved in many different clubs both inside and outside of school, as this will allow you to grow and discover a variety of things.

How did you find the transition from secondary school to Westminster City School’s Sixth Form?

The jump from GCSEs to A Levels is a big jump, as the work load increases rapidly but the teachers and staff at Westminster City School’s Sixth Form has significantly supported me and eased my transition. I especially felt well supported on induction day which was a great welcome into the Westminster City School’s family.

What are your impressions of the Sixth Form?

The Sixth Form has a very high standard where everyone, including the staff strives for greatness. This motivates me and my peers to become successful and create a legacy at Westminster City School’s Sixth Form. Not only do the teachers care about results, but they also show continuous care for the wellbeing of students.

Why would you recommend prospective students to join Westminster City School’s Sixth Form?

As a year group, we have received exclusive opportunities such as the Rolls-Royce internship which has provided us with some of the experience needed for life after Sixth Form. Over the past few weeks and months my subject teachers have demonstrated a high level of teaching, encouraging us to be the best version of ourselves inside and outside of school. This helps us to learn and grow beyond the classroom.

What makes Westminster City School’s Sixth Form so special?

“Dedicated”

Westminster City School’s Sixth Form is dedicated to both the academic progress of its students and the physical and mental well-being of students. There is never a moment where I don’t feel supported and encouraged during my day at the Sixth Form. The Sixth Form staff continuously praises me for my hard work which shows me that they care about my success. Initially, I was nervous and anxious to start at a new Sixth Form, but due to the continuous dedication of the Sixth Form staff I quickly settled into the school.
