Congratulations to Westminster City School’s Sixth Form, class of 2026, on their impressive and richly deserved A-level results.

The outcomes for this year group are some of the best in the school’s history with the proportion of students securing top grades (A* to B) maintaining last year’s record results with almost 2/3 of grades at this level. With a recent ‘‘Strong’’ judgement from OFSTED and students going onto destinations including Cambridge, UCL, Imperial College, LSE and a range of Russell Group Universities outside London, there is further justification for the school’s reputation as a 6th Form providing transformational education in the heart of London.

There were some excellent individual outcomes for the following students:

Akash D - A*A*A* grades and will studying History at Girton College, Cambridge

Olivia L - A*A*A*B grades and will be studying Law at UCL

Arsenii R - A*A*AA grades and will be taking a Gap Year

Adina H - A*A*AA grades and will be studying Biomedical Engineering at Imperial College London

Giovanna S - A*A*A grades and will be studying International Social and Political Studies at UCL

Dorin B – A*A*A grades and will be studying Mathematics at University of Warwick

Anjana B K - A*A*A grades and will be studying Law at King's College London

Angelina S – A*A*B grades and will be studying History, Politics and Economics at UCL

Victoria O – A*AA grades and will studying Architecture at Girton College, Cambridge

Giuliana S - A*AAB grades and will be studying Geography with Economics at LSE

Amazing-Grace O – A*AA grades and will be studying Medicine at the University of East Anglia

Adina, who achieved two A*s and one A has secured a place at the university she had dreamed of attending since Year 8. She will now study Biomedical Engineering at Imperial College London. Reflecting on her results and her time at Westminster City School, she said:

“I’m a person of faith, and for me this achievement is a reminder of how important it is to have a vision, make a plan and then do your part to make it happen. When I first visited Westminster City School, it was actually the first Sixth Form I had seen, but I immediately felt that it was the right place for me. I really liked the environment and the range of opportunities available to students.

“I’m very grateful to all the teachers who supported me throughout my time here. I also want to thank the Music Department. I didn’t study Music at A Level, but being involved in music enrichment added another dimension to my Sixth Form experience and gave me something completely different alongside my academic studies.”

Akash, who joined Westminster City School in Year 7 achieved three A*s and will go on to read History at Girton College, University of Cambridge. Looking back on his seven-year journey and the teachers who have supported him from Year 7 through to Sixth Form, he said:

“My time at Westminster City School started in Year 7, so the support I’ve received has gone far beyond my two years in the Sixth Form. Over the past seven years, my teachers have helped me to grow in confidence, believe in my own ability to do well and keep pushing myself academically. What I think is really special about Westminster City School is that the teachers genuinely want to see you succeed. Their passion for their subjects is visible and contagious, and that makes a real difference when it comes to being taught by them in the classroom. You feel that they care about how well you do and about the person you become as well.

“For anyone considering Westminster City School’s Sixth Form, I would say that if you are ambitious and prepared to work hard, you will have teachers around you who will challenge you, support you and really invest in your success.”

Giovanna achieved two A*s and an A and will now go on to study International Social and Political Studies at University College London. She highlighted the importance of the discipline, study habits and support that helped her succeed. She said:

“I’m genuinely in disbelief and extremely proud of myself. During exam season, I was studying for 8 to 12 hours a day and did everything I could to stay motivated. I also worked out which study strategies suited me best, and that made a huge difference. My advice to students coming into the Sixth Form would be to learn how you learn before you start studying seriously because once you understand what works for you, you can build much better study habits that will help you to succeed.

“The transition from GCSEs to A Levels was challenging, but I never felt I had to figure it all out by myself. My teachers at Westminster City School supported me throughout Years 12 and 13. They believed in me, pushed me when I needed it and knew when to be strict with me, which personally helped me to become a much more disciplined and independent student.

“To students who are thinking about joining Westminster City School’s Sixth Form, I would say make the most of the support around you. The teachers genuinely want you to do well, but they also teach you how to take responsibility for your own success. Looking back at where I started in Year 12 and where I am now, I’m very proud of how much I’ve grown.”

Commenting on this year’s A Level results success, Headteacher, Mr Peter Broughton said: 

“I am very proud that this year’s Year 13 have maintained the number of results at Grade B and above and delighted for all the students. The class of 2026 are the school’s largest cohort ever, easily its most cohesive and I have been very privileged to have witnessed many of them complete a significant and life-changing seven-year journey with us. Maintaining outcomes at such a high level underpins our belief that Westminster City School is one of the best places to complete A Levels in the capital. With the range and variety of exceptional destinations, we hold true to our mission to provide transformational education in the heart of London. I wish every student well for the future and trust that through the school’s alumni association, they will stay in touch with the school.” 

Mr Omar Taufik, Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for the 6th Form, said:

Together, we’ve created an environment where our young people can thrive, and these results open the door to top universities, exciting apprenticeships, and bright futures.”
