'AP Baked It' at Tycoon Enterprise League Final

19 March 2026

On Wednesday 18 March, two Year 12 students from Westminster City School, Alexandra and Paula who are behind the student led baking business ‘AP Baked It’ attended the Tycoon London League Final, hosted at Francis Holland School and organised by the Peter Jones Foundation.

Student entrepreneurs from across London were together in the same space to present their businesses, reflect on their journey from the initial idea through to operational stage. It provided an opportunity for participants to showcase their products, profit margins, decision-making and the challenges they faced, while receiving feedback from judges, foundation representatives and other teams.

Congratulations to Alexandra and Paula for all the work they put into 'AP Baked It'. Their stall was recognised as a runner-up in the “Best Stall” category, with judges praising the quality, presentation and branding of their products, as well as their professionalism and strong teamwork.

Alexandra, one of the entrepreneurs of ‘AP Baked It’, said:

“I really enjoyed being able to showcase the journey of ‘AP Baked It’ in a professional environment and seeing how other teams approached the competition as well. It was interesting to compare different ideas, products and marketing strategies.

“Speaking to the judges and receiving feedback allowed us to present the hard work that went into the business, and it pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me to articulate myself when explaining our decisions.”

Mr Chaffey, Faculty Leader of Enterprise and Social Sciences at Westminster City School received direct feedback from one of the Programme Managers at Peter Jones Foundation, stating that judges and guests highlighted the team’s strengths, describing them as “engaging young entrepreneurs with great chemistry”, and commending the presentation and quality of their products. Feedback also encouraged Alexandra and Paula to consider future growth, including pricing strategies and opportunities to expand into larger markets such as events and festivals.

When asked about the future of ‘AP Baked It’, both students shared that they are carefully balancing their business ambitions with their academic priorities. Paula, said:

“Now that the competition has finished, our focus has shifted to our upcoming mocks. Additionally, we’re continuing to develop the business by expanding our product range, testing new flavours like red velvet and introducing items such as brownies to appeal to a wider audience.”

“The business is still doing well, even though we’ve slowed production while preparing for exams. Once they’re finished, we’ll be able to dedicate more time to growing it further.”

Well done to both Paula and Alexandra for saying ‘yes’ to this opportunity and reaching the league final. The Tycoon competition provided these students with an exceptional platform to develop entrepreneurial skills, build confidence and gain real business experience that will help them now and in the future.
