Engineering is everywhere!

1 July 2022

This week, students in Year 7 visited the London Transport Museum Depot in Acton to find out about careers in Engineering and how to build a sustainable city, with a focus on building infrastructure such as a 3D replication of a train station.

Students held a discussion considering the positives and negatives of installing a one way system or a bus lane to reduce congestion and the impact such developments can have on businesses and residents.

As part of the visit, students were also able to interview two engineers about their roles and interesting projects they have worked on. They were also given a tour of the depot which allowed them to find out how skills in STEM subjects are used to develop the London transport system such as the new Elizabeth Line.

The day was very insightful and students were able to learn more about different career routes they can pursue in the not so distant future.
