Following the success of Westminster City School’s Online Masterclasses for Year 5 and 6 last term, more are being offered to inspire younger children this May and June!
Running on a Saturday morning, our exciting schedule of age-appropriate one-hour Zoom masterclasses are open to primary school pupils who previously attended, as well as new attendees, from Years 4, 5 and 6.
Starting on Saturday 22 May, our Music Composition masterclass will see children work to produce a full-length song from scratch, using their own creativity. The final product will have as many contributions as possible from the children taking part, with the final track distributed as an audio file to parent/carers via email, meaning all the children have something to take away from the session and be proud of!
Our Mathematics masterclass on Saturday 29 May will cover some KS2 topics to further boost existing knowledge, and will then challenge children to stretch themselves with some KS3 maths! In addition, our Science masterclasses on Saturday 12 June will see children enjoying some fun online experiments that can help boost their knowledge of chemistry and physics.
Peter Broughton, Headteacher at Westminster City School, said: “Feedback on our online masterclasses has been overwhelmingly positive, with all parents/carers who responded to our survey saying they would recommend our masterclasses, and all describing our masterclasses as excellent or good.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming even more pupils from Years 4 to 6, plus their parents/carers, to our next online masterclasses, and to further inspiring their interest in music, maths and science.”
