World Book Day 2021
World Book Day always sees a flurry of reading-related events at Westminster City School, so we’re not letting lockdown close the book on our celebrations on Thursday 4 March!
Despite most young people currently being away from Palace Street, a number of activities are taking place to ensure all at Westminster City School have fun and take note of World Book Day 2021. This includes a live assembly for younger pupils with a spoken word poet and a literary quiz for all across our School, while this week’s Westminster City School Wellbeing Challenge also celebrates World Book Week.
On Thursday, Years 7 and 8 will enjoy a live assembly with Rob Bradley, a rapper, music producer and spoken word poet. He has performed around the world and has poetry books, multiple TED talks and a freestyle rap world championship to his name. As well as hearing his inspiring performance, there will be also a chance for our pupils to question Rob Bradley about his work.
All across our School will also be asked to separate the facts from fiction with our World Book Day quiz, to be completed in form time. With four rounds, including one section on book to film adaptations and another on award winners, there will be plenty to test the little grey cells.
