If you’re looking for new podcasts for the half-term break, while the UK is still in lockdown, then read on to be inspired!
Numbers listening to podcasts during lockdown has grown dramatically, as people staying home use podcasts as both a means of entertainment and a way to learn more about particular topics.
Our LRC Manager, Mr Chapman, explains, “There are some very interesting podcasts available for our young people (and their families) to listen to and enjoy. Below I’ve provided a list of a few to get you started.”â
- The Week Junior Show - this show breaks down the biggest stories for enquiring minds, talking through current topics and sorting fact from fiction
- Myths and Legends – a great one for fans of knights, Viking warriors, dragons and the ruling classes from forgotten times!
- Stuff You Should Know – this does what it says, with the hosts sharing fascinating trivia to enrich your general knowledge
- Just Vocabulary – why not add a word, or two, a day to your vocabulary by tuning into this series where the host shares two words, their dictionary definitions and examples of how to use them in everyday speech
A podcast is an audio file that can be downloaded from the internet. Once downloaded, a podcast can be listened to on a computer or transferred to a portable device, like an iPod or mobile phone.
Happy podcast listening everyone!
