Feel the love
In advance of Valentine’s Day, next week’s Westminster City School Wellbeing Challenge is asking our KS3 pupils to feel the love, in order to win merits, distinctions and prizes.
Ms Armatage, from our English Department, explains: “Our nature themed Westminster City School Wellbeing Challenge was a roaring success, with an array of brilliant entries submitted, including the pine cone hedgehog (pictured above) by Calon. Winners in Years 7, 8 and 9 will be announced in form time on Monday!
“For now, I'm excited to announce that next week's challenge is inspired by the fast-approaching Valentine's Day and is on the theme of love! We're going to spend time being appreciative of those around us and I can't wait to see what fantastic entries our Westminster City School Wellbeing Challenge brings!'
Activities, detailed on a slide towards the end of our COVID-19 webpage, range from writing a love letter to yourself, undertaking an act of kindness for a loved one and taking part in Mr Asante’s workout while dressed as someone that you love or admire!
Next week’s Fun Friday Challenge (which is open to all - pupils, students and staff! - across Westminster City School) asks participants to create a feel good playlist for their household. Entries must be submitted by 4pm on Friday 12 February, pupils and students should do so via their Wellbeing Challenge assignment on Microsoft Teams and staff can email entries to Ms Armatage.
In addition, our English Department are running an Annotation Challenge for Years 7 to 10 next week. Pupils are required to submit a photo of their 'best' annotations from the week commencing Monday 8 February to their English teacher. There's a £10 gift voucher for each year group, plus lots of merits and distinctions up for grabs! Winners will be announced on Friday 12 February.
