Summer reading

3 July 2020

As the end of term approaches, many pupils may be thinking of picking up new books to enjoy in the holidays. So, to provide plenty of summer reading, our Library will open for set hours, from 6 – 16 July, for Years 7, 8 and 9 to collect books.

Our pupils must email Mr Chapman on email: c.chapman@wcsch.com to arrange a time to come into our School to choose their books. If you already know the books you would like to borrow, then you can write this in your email to Mr Chapman. Otherwise you will be able to browse the books available in our Library, on your visit to Palace Street.

Mr Chapman will reply to all emails with a date and time for you to come in. To help keep pupils safe, he will schedule all visits from 11am to 1.30pm, to avoid travelling during rush hour. Only two pupils will be permitted in our Library at one time, and we will provide gloves (and a mask, if requested) to further limit the risk of transmission.

Mr Chapman said: “We have a huge selection of books for pupils to choose from - our catalogue can be accessed through the My Library tile on our pupil homepage. Many new books have been ordered recently, including those pictured above. Pupils may borrow up to six books at a time.

“I look forward to hearing from pupils before 6 July and to many amazing books being borrowed from our Library this summer.”
