Our Inspiring Musical Futures concert has raised over £500 towards free instrumental lessons for Year 7 pupils.
To support our Inspiring Musical Futures programme, which aims to ensure every Year 7 pupil has access to a free instrumental lesson each week, our concert saw Westminster City School pupils perform alongside professional musicians. It was a wonderful evening at St Peter’s Church, Eaton Square, last month with some truly standout performances of classical and contemporary music.
Ms Mole, Assistant Headteacher explains: “In 2018-19, 75 pupils were able to have a subsidised instrumental lesson at our School. However, since then, our Inspiring Musical Futures programme received enough funds to subsidise instrumental lessons for an additional 65 pupils. We are thrilled that even more has been raised at our November concert to support this innovative programme.”
At our concert, The Reverend Anthony Ball, Canon of Westminster Vice Chair of Governors of Westminster City School, generously pledged to raise a further £7,000 towards our Inspiring Musical Futures programme.
By 2021, Westminster City School would like 250 pupils to have access to free instrumental lessons at our School. Parents/carers of current pupils can donate via ParentPay and there are also pledge forms available for individuals and organisations outside our School. Remember that your next chance to see many of our pupils perform again will be this Thursday, 12 December, at our Westminster City School Xmas Factor concert. Our concert starts at 5.30pm in our Main Hall.
