The Power of Partnerships
On Thursday 17 November, over 200 students from a range of different schools including Alleyn's School and many others, attended a musical collaboration event at Kingsdale Foundation School, run by the Southwark Schools Learning Partnership Music Hub.
The event included exciting workshops and performances, exploring the different aspects of Gospel music which featured materials produced by Westminster City School's Subject Leader of Music, Mr Cecile.
The students who were involved learnt about posture and breathing, practiced singing and took part in a final performance including seven soloists from as many schools. This was a fantastic event, showcasing the power of partnerships and we look forward to participating in more of these events. Students and staff involved left feeling joyful and energised.
Subject Leader of Music at Westminster City School, Mr Cecile said:
"It was a truly uplifting day and the first of its kind since the pandemic. I am proud of all our singers for their contributions during the day and representing us so well.
"Personally, it was quite special to see them all feel the energy and intensity associated with singing in a mass gospel choir, and to connect with many others who similarly enjoy singing and performing. We are delighted to be part of SSLP and excited to grow our partnership further through other events in the future."
