A Level results 2018

16 August 2018

Congratulations to all Westminster City School Sixth Form students on a fantastic set of A Level results.

We are delighted to announce some of our best ever A Level results with a record 33% of all grades awarded at A*-A and 56% of grades at A*-B. The increase in the top grades is particularly encouraging, significantly above the national average and demonstrates how hard our students have worked and the expertise of staff in delivering these impressive results.

Headteacher, Peter Broughton, said: “I am absolutely thrilled with these results and for a comprehensive intake to have such a high proportion of students achieve the very top grades in more rigorous qualifications is especially pleasing. They reflect the hard work of the students, the professionalism and dedication of their teachers as well as the support of their families. We have young men and women going to the best universities and I am confident that the school will continue to be placed in the top 10% of schools nationally for the progress made by students in the Sixth Form. I am also very proud that they have, in addition to strong qualifications, the personal skills and qualities to make a difference in the world. I wish them every success.”

Our School’s overall 2018 A Level results are as follows:
31% A*-A grades
56% A*-B grades
79% A*-C grades
99% pass rate

Head of Sixth Form, Katie Dennis expressed her delight: “With its brand new state-of-the-art facilities and dedicated staff, Westminster City School is the ‘go-to’ Sixth Form in the capital. This year’s results and those over time show that whether you are aiming for the best universities or the most prestigious industry placements, Westminster students flourish and succeed under our guidance.

"We have proved time and time again that with hard work and commitment, you can achieve the most ambitious goals. We are heavily oversubscribed for entry in September 2018 and this is testament to the outstanding reputation that our staff and students have established.”
