Westminster City School Athletes Excelled in the Sun!
On Monday 09 May, Westminster City School students in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 went to Battersea Park Millennium Arena to compete in the Westminster Schools Athletics Competition against schools from the local area.
Westminster City School athletes showcased their wide range of talents and competed in both track and field events including throws, jumps, sprints and middle distance runs. A total of twenty eight medals were collected, thus dominating the field with seven medals being received from shot put and discus.
Mr Leckey, Teacher of PE at Westminster City School said:
"The highlight of the day was a tie between witnessing a WCS first and second place in the 200m by our two students, Zindine and Duncan or the performances by the Year 7 and Year 9 relay teams to both win gold.
"The athlete of the day has to go to Deron who dominated the field events, collecting four medals, including gold in shot put and high jump and bronze in long jump and discus."
Congratulations to all of Westminster City School's students who were involved in the athletic competiton.
These students exemplified excellence throughout the competition which was matched with the integrity demonstrated by their exceptional behaviour and the compassion they showed for their fellow competitors and teammates.
