Trying out rugby
The new academic year at Westminster City School has seen many in Years 7 and 8 tackle a new sport – rugby!
As the Rugby World Cup takes place in Japan, our pupils have been training for three nights a week at Green Park. The sport has already proved popular with pupils in Years 9, 10 and 11, who have continued to play, but is new for many of our youngest boys.
Mr Huxley, Subject Leader, said: “Attendance has been excellent, with a regular group of around 25 pupils per year taking part. Training has consisted of tackling, passing and rucking, plus game play.
“Special mentions must go to Michael and Finley from Year 11, and to Deron and Caleb from Year 8, who have been the stand out performers. Well done to all boys that have been taking part.”
Westminster City School has, so far, played two fixtures in the Middlesex Cup and performed very well. We all wish our players all the best in their future matches!
