Two of our talented GCSE Art pupils have taken part in an advanced art workshop at Emmanuel School.
Our Westminster City School pupils got to try out the technique of etching, alongside A Level classes, at Emmanuel School, which is also part of the United Westminster and Grey Coat Foundation.
Ms Elaine Chance, Head of our Art Department, explains: “Our pupils were able to etch their images into copper plate using etching needles, as well as learn how an acid bath can be used to etch lines more deeply, in order to get a good quality print. The workshop was even extended by an hour because all the pupils were so eager to continue their amazing work!”
Year 11 Ezekiel, who took part in the event, said: “The workshop was very helpful and exciting, and I learnt things that I did not know existed. It really helped me to open my mind to a lot of new things.”
Our thanks go to Emmanuel School for hosting our pupils and for arranging such an inspiring and informative event.
