Westminster City School’s Year 11 football team got back to winning ways, with a 2-1 victory over Forest Hill in the London Cup.
With three wins from four games this season, it has been a fantastic time for our talented Year 11 football team. This week’s match saw our players initially on the back foot, after falling behind to an excellent volley which came against the run of play. However, the squad showed great courage and determination, as PE teacher Mr Bradley, who accompanied our players, explained.
“Our Year 11 football team came out in the second half determined to kept the pressure on the Forest Hill goal, with Antonio then breaking the deadlock with a fine finish.
“Following a sublime loft from Foday, Antonio was able to get his second goal of the afternoon, calmly slotting past the opposing keeper. I’m proud to say that our team then held on to their lead with maturity.”
Our Year 11 football team now progress to the second round of the London Cup, where they will face Woolwich Polytechnic School for Boys.
