Our civil historian
Andi plans to read history and politics at University of Westminster. He has been at Westminster City School since Year 7 and is completing A Levels in History, Politics and Psychology. He lives in Westminster.
“I choose to join Westminster City School's Sixth Form for my A Levels because I had previously studied here, so I was already familiar with the institution and I liked the central location. Not only is it easy to get to from home but I knew that the School had connections to outside businesses, firms and organisations which have previously helped student get a foot into the industry they seek to work with in the future.
“My A Levels have helped me to learn and further develop my analytical and writing skills, will be essential for me when I start my degree. I’m planning to read history and politics at university as I have developed an interest in the history and the world of politics and believe that, by combining the two subjects, I will have a greater insight into both areas.
“I found it easy to settle into life in Westminster City School’s Sixth Form and to make friends. Trips were good icebreakers and I’ve also been involved in the School’s Army Cadet Force Unit.
“After university, I would like to either work in the civil service or start my own business selling cars.”
The University of Westminster is based in Regent Street, with additional campuses across London. Notable alumni and academics include Nobel laureate in Medicine Sir Alexander Fleming, author Margery Allingham, the broadcaster Charlie Brooker, fashion designers Christopher Bailey and Vivienne Westwood, and Rolling Stone Charlie Watts.
The majority of our Year 13 have applied to start university in autumn 2021, receiving offers across a range of courses and institutions, both in and out of London. We have been so inspired by the hard work of our sixth formers during this unprecedented time in modern history and have been featuring many of them on our website, talking about their exciting journey towards university.
