Our surveying student
William plans to study quantity surveying at Kingston University London. He joined our Sixth Form from overseas and is completing A Levels in Biology, Psychology and Religious Studies. William lives in Lewisham.
“I decided to apply to Westminster City School’s Sixth Form for my A Levels because it has a good reputation and because I had a very positive experience when I attended an open day, during Year 11. I would certainly recommend Westminster City School’s Sixth Form to other students, as your experience here will change you for the better and help you achieve your aspirations and goals.
“Once I joined in Year 12, I found settling in very easy, since all the staff and other students were so friendly. I have also found all the teachers to be very supportive of my career goals. Sixth Form staff have supported and guided me in developing the attitude and skills needed in a future workplace.
“At university I wish to study quantity surveying because I come from a family of construction workers, meaning I already have experience in this field. After graduating, I would like to work as a quantity surveyor for three years and then apply to become a chartered quantity surveyor.”
Kingston University London won The Guardian University Award for teaching excellence in 2017 and was ranked as one of the UK's top 40 universities by The Guardian University Guide 2020. Notable alumni include the actor Trevor Eve, former England rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio, former BSkyB Chief Executive Tony Ball and Michael Pennington, co-founder of Gumtree.com.
The majority of our Year 13 have applied to start university in autumn 2021, receiving offers across a range of courses and institutions, both in and out of London. We have been so inspired by the hard work of our sixth formers during this unprecedented time in modern history and, over the coming weeks, will feature many of them talking about their exciting journey towards university.
