Vaulting through lockdown
One Westminster City School pupil has not been letting lockdown get too much in the way of his gymnastic training!
During the ongoing pandemic, Year 9 pupil, Nehemiah has been training online with his club, Southwark Gymnastics. As lockdown restrictions slowly start to be eased in England, he is looking forward to the day that he can return to training in person, at his gymnastics club.
Nehemiah, pictured above when he was awarded Best Boy in 2018, has been undertaking gymnastics for the last nine years. He explains: “When I was younger, I was always jumping around and so my mum decided to channel this through gymnastics lessons! I really enjoyed it and now, after working out online during the pandemic, I can’t wait to get back to real-life training with my coaches and fellow gymnasts!”
Nehemiah has successfully taken part in numerous gymnastics competitions and was ranked sixth in the UK, as well as being awarded bronze for his vault performance in 2018. As he prepares for future gymnastics competitions, all at Westminster City School wish him well and look forward to hearing about his future success.
