Year 8 pupil, Matteo, has joined an elite group of Hegarty Maths completers, after successfully finishing all 925 tasks on the popular mathematics website.
An educational subscription tool that covers a variety of topics, Hegarty Maths contains over 900 tasks for young people in the UK to complete. Each task includes an educational video to explains the topic, followed by a quiz of topic-specific questions. While over 1.5million young people use Hegarty Maths, only a handful eventually complete the whole website and Westminster City School pupil, Matteo, is one of those completers!
Ms Powell, Subject Leader Maths, explains: “This is an exceptional achievement as tasks go all the way up to Grade 9 in Year 11, so it is expected that young people will only complete all tasks by the end of Year 11. However Matteo has done this halfway through Year 8!
“Completing all 925 tasks has taken Matteo 220 hours, which is a huge commitment and evidence of his outstanding independent learning. I am immensely proud of Matteo and would also like to thank his teacher, Mr Gebremariam, who put in a significant amount of time in supporting and encouraging him.
Colin Hegarty, co-founder of Hegarty Maths, said: “We are extremely impressed with the commitment and dedication of Matteo. He has shown incredible independence and resilience to complete all 925 skills tasks.”
