Ding Dong Merrily Online
Our annual Carol Service moved online this year, meaning all within our Westminster City School community enjoyed festive readings, music and songs whilst keeping safe.
Our Westminster City School Carol Service can be viewed on our School’s Vimeo channel here.
Our socially distant performances were filmed in advance at St Margaret’s, Westminster Abbey, meaning our School Choir and music ensembles got some performance experience in a term that has not seen our usual concerts and carol singing events due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Highlights from our service include our School band with Joy to the World, a number of carols performed by our School Choir (such as Ding Dong Merrily On High and Follow That Star) and our School wind band performing songs like Deck the Halls and Good King Wenceslas. There was also a fantastic medley of carols by our steel pans ensemble to conclude the musical performances.
Following a welcome prayer by Rev Ball, Canon of Westminster Abbey, a number of pupils undertook selected Bible readings in various languages, reflecting the global connections that our School community has.
Our Carol Service normally takes place in St Margaret’s Church, Westminster Abbey, with a record number of parents/carers joining last year’s event and donating generously towards The Passage, a local charity supporting the homeless. Donations can still be made via ParentPay.
