Welcome and wisdom
Our newest and youngest pupils were formally welcomed into the Westminster City School community at St Margaret’s Church, Westminster Abbey, last week.
Our Year 7 cohort took part in our Re-dedication Service on Friday, which saw the Reverend Anthony Ball, Canon of Westminster, delivered an inspiring talk to our pupils about wisdom.
Taking place in the twelfth century church next to Westminster Abbey, our Headteacher also spoke and a number of Year 7 delivered readings, while beautiful piano music was provided by two pupils.
The start of a new academic year would normally see all within our School join together for our Re-dedication Service at nearby St Margaret’s Church. However, the ongoing pandemic means that was impossible at present, so only Year 7 pupils and their tutors took part in this socially distant service.
Westminster City School retains a unique spiritual connection to Westminster Abbey and the Reverend Anthony Ball is also Chair of our Governors for our School.
