Easter holiday

3 April 2020

Westminster City School is now closed for the Easter holiday.

Trinity term is scheduled to re-start on Monday 20 April but it is not clear that our School will be physically open to pupils, students and staff at this time. Remote learning may need to continue after that date.

Pupils should use their Easter holiday to further adapt to this new way of studying and to ensure that all schoolwork, set so far, is complete. Staff will be collating a list of tasks, including extension work, and this will be available on Show My Homework

We are also setting an Easter Challenge for Years 7 to 9, which will involve engaging and stimulating activities that promote learning. Challenges will range from culture and reading to fitness. More details are available on Show My Homework from Monday 6 April!

We expect some clarity from the UK Government on GCSE and A Level examinations shortly. We will inform those affected as soon we have this information, as well as updating the Letters home page of our website.

If older pupils and sixth formers are using this time to think about higher education, then many universities have virtual tours on their websites. As university open days have been postponed, virtual tours allow you to see what different institutions are like. Find out more at: www.ucas.com/undergraduate/what-and-where-study/open-days-and-events/virtual-tours.

The UK Government has not yet announced when school closures to curb the spread of COVID-19 will end. Our School’s emergency planning is taking different scenarios into account and we will continue to keep our School community updated on developments via our usual communication channels.

We wish all within our community well at this challenging time.
