Sport

Sport remains a key part of life at Westminster City School, with a wide variety of activities on offer to develop the enthusiasm, talent and skills of all our young people.

Our School's physical education (PE) curriculum is designed to inspire students to develop competence and confidence in different sporting activities, thus supporting their health and fitness. Some of our most popular sports include cross-country running, football, basketball, handball, rugby, table tennis and athletics.

Alongside our PE lessons, we also run well-attended clubs both before- and after-school, and at lunch. Our School sports teams take part in numerous competitions, building valuable skills and experience, as well as challenging themselves and representing Westminster City School.

Sports facilities at our Palace Street site include a large sport hall, fitness room with gym equipment and rowing machines, and an outside playground. We also make use of nearby leisure services and open spaces. Our rugby teams, for example, train at Green Park three times a week during the rugby season.

Our PE Department have their own channel on our School's Vimeo page, with videos to help our young people keep fit and healthy, even from the comfort of their own home!

As well as ensuring our students keep physically fit and enjoy sport in school, we hope to develop a ongoing involvement in regular physical activity that supports a healthy and active life.
