Key Stage 4 – Years 10 and 11In Years 10 and 11, all students study Religious Studies, English, English Literature, Mathematics, Science Information Technology and participate in PE. There is a variety of Science courses available, subject to demand: double or triple (separate study of Biology, Chemistry and Physics) and all students follow a course in PSE. Students can also choose further optional courses to study to GCSE level. The current choice includes Art and Design, Business Studies, Design and Technology, Drama, a Modern Foreign Language, Geography, History, PE and Music. In addition, some students have the opportunity to take vocational courses at a local college. The school is committed to offering a range of options at Key Stage 4. The options system is designed to be as open and flexible as possible to enable students to make choices to suit their aptitudes and interests and to provide a solid base for further study post-16. All students receive a National Record of Achievement at the end of Year 11. |
