We’re now an Academy
1 July 2012
Sunday 1 July 2012 was another milestone in the school’s history.
On this day the Department for Education confirmed the school’s application for academy status had been approved. The governors and I believe this change in status will allow us to focus on school initiatives which include reducing class sizes, building new classrooms and developing the school site. We have introduced a personalised curriculum that meets the needs of our pupils and academy status will allow us to continue being innovative. GCSE results are improving year on year and we are confident this trend will continue.
We feel the conversion to academy status will benefit our pupils and the wider school community by allowing us to continue being a successful boys’ school with a religious ethos founded on Christian principles promoting excellence and achievement for all.

Being a Foundation school means we’re used to making decisions. Becoming an Academy was a natural progression.
