Best ever exam results

2005 and 2006 have been significant years for the school's performance in GCSE examinations. Last year 54% of students gained at least five GCSEs A* - C with the school passing the 50% milestone for the first time. However, we are delighted to inform you that this year we have done even better - 61% of students gained at least five passes at A* - C with 37 boys achieving that in nine or more subjects! This is a remarkable achievement. The results at GCSE are the best that the school has attained and I am very proud of the staff and students here and congratulate them on their success.

Key Stage 3 results were also commendable. In maths 89% of students achieved a level 5+ with three quarters of those achieving a level 6. In science the figure was 82% at level 5 with half of those students getting a level 6. English saw a slight fall in the number of boys gaining level 5 (80%) although the percentage of students getting level 6 did increase.

At A level 95% of students who applied to university gained the necessary grades to take up their degree courses and should be very pleased with their achievements.
