Mosaic Mentoring
23 November 2011
Mosaic Mentoring at Westminster City School has entered a brand new season this academic year with over 70 boys signing up. The mentoring season began with a rapport building session in the library on the 23rd of November, when the students met their mentors for the first time over a feast of Pizzas, kindly provided by Mr Uzair Bawany, CEO of Contact Recruitment and lead mentor.
The Mosaic Network, which was founded, by HRH the Prince of Wales seeks to raise attainment of pupils through its widely acclaimed mentoring programme. It also gives young people a head start in life by pairing them with a mentor who is a prominent professional in a designated field. The Charity also organises trips, workshop and training opportunities for young people.
The focus of mosaic has changed over the years to make it more inclusive to all, which means that mentoring is now available to all pupils irrespective of background, ethnicity and faith. The programme will be running on selected Wednesdays after school until the 21st of March 2011. The APAX Enterprise challenge , which some students from our school are actively participating, is also being organised by the Mosaic network.
