Physical Education
Vision
Our aim in PE is to introduce students to a wide variety of sports with the hope that all students leave school recognising the importance of a healthy active lifestyle. Indeed there is a particular focus on healthy active lifestyles, with Health Related Fitness being taught to all year groups. The more able students will be pushed through extracurricular clubs and encouraged to join clubs outside of school. The less able students will have the opportunity to participate in all sports covered on the curriculum. The department realises the huge impact that sport can play in children’s lives and takes the aspects of sportsmanship, fair play, teamwork and leadership very seriously in both curriculum lessons and school teams. The department is fully focused on making sure that all students enjoy sport during their time at WCS.
