Sixth Form

We offer a unique Sixth Form experience that combines academic excellence with strong pastoral support and a varied enrichment programme for young men and women. As a member of the Sixth Form at Westminster City School, you will enjoy the freedom and independence that goes hand-in-hand with your new status as a student as you would expect at any academy or college sixth form.

In choosing to study A Levels at in Westminster City School Sixth Form you can be confident that academic excellence is at the heart of school life. However, being in the Sixth Form is about much more than academic success. We are committed to support the development of confident, well-rounded and independently minded young men and women. Our Sixth Form will provide you with new freedoms and new responsibilities, as well as the opportunity to take a leading role in the school whilst guiding you in the next step in your career – be that college, university or employment.

Many of you will be aware that A Level qualifications are being reformed. The school is paying close attention to the impact this will have on our Sixth Form course choices and the implications for university admission criteria. The subjects that we offer for our Sixth Form are shown here.

Choosing the right A Level course combination can be a daunting prospect but the staff at Westminster City School will work with you every step of the way to help you understand the options available, the implications of how each A Level is weighted for university entrance and help you decide which route is the best study choice for you.

As well as maintaining high academic standards, we will also provide you with the opportunity to develop your leadership skills and act as role models for the younger pupils; whether as a prefect, mentoring a lower school student, acting as a subject ambassador or simply through a positive, mature approach to school life and our local central London community. The Sixth Form at Westminster City School encourages you to take responsibility, individually and as a group, for managing your experience over the two years.

Finally, we hope you will thoroughly enjoy the experience of being a member of the Sixth Form.

    Business Mentoring

Westminster City School Sixth Form is committed to supporting all students to be successful in furthering their career either at university or in work. We are working with a leading education charity Young Enterprise and global communications partners AT&T to provide a personal mentor to work with students through the next stage of their education.

AT&T employee volunteers and Young Enterprise lead custom master classes about future study, career options, personal goal statements and interview techniques. Seven students from Westminster City School shadowed AT&T employees for two weeks and attended customer meetings.
