COVID-19 update - Lent term 2021

23 February 2021

The Prime Minister has announced that schools in England can re-open from Monday 8 March.

letter has now been sent to our parents/carers about our plans for testing and a return to Palace Street for all our young people.

At Westminster City School, we warmly welcome the return of our young people to Palace Street. Our planning for re-opening is mindful of the need to keep everyone safe and is supported by a risk assessment which is under regular review. Our planning is also reflective of our research around best practice and will continue to be scrutinised by our Governing Body.

Remote learning during lockdown
While the UK remains under lockdown to help curb the spread of COVID-19, our young people and staff have been staying home to protect themselves and others. We have been providing high-quality remote learning to support our young people.

We continue to keep our community updated via letters and emails, our weekly email bulletin (sent every Friday), our School's website and our social media channels. Our COVID-19 webpage details:

  • Our remote learning arrangements for all year groups
  • Our remote learning timetable that continues to support routines crucial for learning and wellbeing, whilst helping our young people manage their daily habits
  • A video by staff on how our young people can best use Microsoft Teams
  • Our array of extra-curricular activities that have moved online during lockdown
  • Our online careers programme that supports all year groups in making important decisions about their future

All at Westminster City School are determined to continue to provide an excellent educational experience to our young people, whilst ensuring their health and wellbeing during this challenging time.
