COVID-19 - Update for Wednesday 25 March

25 March 2020

Update from our Headteacher - Wednesday 25 March

I hope this message finds all within our strong and supportive Westminster City School community keeping well, during this unprecedented time.

As of today (Wednesday 25 March), all pupils and students are now working remotely. My thanks go to the small number of staff on our School site today, as they ensured that free school meal vouchers were sent out to relevant pupils, that a large number of laptops were prepped to be used, and that other essential functions took place, in line with our plans. Tomorrow (Thursday 26 March), another small group of staff will be on site to complete further necessary tasks.

I would also like to thank all teaching staff for continuing to provide high quality remote learning materials to our young people, and for continuing to check in with tutees this week. Our commitment to education and pastoral support remains strong.

A reminder that our Year 8 options process is underway. Please check our webpage to keep up-to-date and meet Friday’s deadline. In addition, Year 8 reports and PPE results are available via Parental Insight. (Please note: Parental Insight will be unavailable on Thursday 26 March, from 12 noon to 12.30, for essential maintenance).

I look forward to making some positive phone calls on Friday, with the parents/carers of  pupils and students who have been nominated for their outstanding actions and behaviour. This will be in lieu of my usual Headteacher’s Breakfast on a Friday morning.

As always, we will continue to keep in contact with parents/carers via email and our weekly bulletin. We will also continue to update our community through our website and social media channels.

Unitate Fortior. God bless you all.

Mr Peter Broughton, Headteacher
